1. Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) is a Category-I Mini-Ratna Company since October 2007. The enterprise is also a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL) and currently manages all the nationalized coal mines of the Coal Mines Authority, India.
CCL is headquartered at Darbhanga House, Ranchi, Jharkhand and presently has 62 operative mines (22 underground and 40 opencast) in areas of East Bokaro, West Bokaro, North Karanpura, South Karanpura, Ramgarh Giridih and Hutar.
Internship Record: Last year, the Human Resource Development Department of Cental Coalfields Limited (CCL) hired 905 interns from 98 colleges. Majority of these interns were Science, Engineering and Management students.
Internship Project: The seniors here are very supportive. Interns are often provided flexible work hours with challenging projects on Working Capital Management, Market Liquidity, Capital (Economics), Mining, etc. On completion of internship, interns create their project presentation which is later maintained as a record for Program Outcomes (POs). Internship Duration: 30-45 Days for Undergraduates (can also extend to 180 Days for PG students).
2. Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited (HEC)
Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd., is one of the leading suppliers of capital equipment in India for steel, mining, railways, power, defense, space research, nuclear and strategic sectors. Established in the year 1958, HECL also executes turn-key projects from concept-to-commissioning.
As one of the largest Integrated Engineering Complex in India, HECL has acquired expertise in its field through its more than half a century's experience. This GOI Undertaking enterprise has complete manufacturing set up starting from casting & forging, fabrication, machining, assembly and testing, all at one location, Ranchi.
Internship Record: 2016 number of total students/interns did their internship at HECL between April 2015 and March 2016. The selected students came from PAN Indian technical and non-technical colleges. These interns were mainly from mechanical, electrical, civil, metallurgy, electronics, production and other branches as finance and marketing.
Internship Project: With seamless integration of its facilities, HEC is india's one of the largest integrated engineering complex which has facilities starting from steel melting , casting , forging,fabrication, assembly and testing. During the internship program, interns are mentored by strong design engineering and technology teams who provide exposure in Manufacturing, Production, Foundry, Casting (Metalworking), Inventory management, Procurement, Forging, Sales etc. Here is an example of HECL project presentation by R Bhushan.
Internship Duration: 30-90 Days (in case of Vocational Training, students can choose from a training period starting from 2 weeks.
3. National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO)
National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is a Central Public Sector Enterprise. The company has integrated and diversified operations in mining, metal and power with an annual turnover of Rs 7,933 crore in the latest financial year. NALCO is also one of the largest integrated Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminium- Power Complex in the Country. To be the fuel in nation building by empowering the youths, NALCO also committed to contribute 10% of CSR fund for Skill Development.
Internship Record: During 2015-16, the organisation selected 465 students of different institutes of India for Internship. These students pursued Engineering and Management courses across different institutions in India.
Internship Project: Apart from a friendly work culture, NALCO offers interns a wide spectrum of learning during the internship program. Students gain practical a exposure on Customer Satisfaction, Strategy Formulation, Extensive Evaluation of reports, Marketing, Commodity Markets, etc. After the completion of one month internship, the organisation offers a govt. recognised internship certificate to interns. Internship Duration: 30-60 Days.
All these internships are published by the HRD units of respective organisations and are verified internships.
