My Internship Experience with Switch Idea - Nowami M

I learned about the National Talent Acquisition Test (NTAT) through a representative of Switch Idea who came to my college. I was immediately keen on taking up the examination to assess my skills. After taking up the NTAT, I would regularly get emails from the team, informing me about the various internships that were suitable for me. They were also conducting certain short quizzes, and I decided to participate in one of them.

I was glad that I did because I was selected among four other winners for Internship Quiz #2 and I could select an internship of my choice without having to apply for it first! I was interested in content-writing, and I took up an internship in that field.

I had to write articles for the Switch Idea blog. Here, I had the good fortune of getting in contact with Ms. Chandni (Operations Department), who guided me throughout my internship journey. I was given the position of Content Moderator and even got business cards printed in my name. I received other goodies too. She introduced me to the company’s blog. My task was to write articles on various topics that she had sent links for. I learned about new things like SEO, and how to write catchy headlines for my articles. There is a website called Headline Analyzer that helps you check the SEO rating of your headlines. A score of 65+ means that you have a pretty good headline.

I was also trained on how to use tools for plagiarism checking and developing a good content strategy. My mentor gave me reviews about my articles and showed me where I could improve. When I would get stuck, Chandni would help me out by giving me suggestions, so that I could get a broader idea about the topic at hand.

During my internship tenure, I also came in contact with the leadership team, who motivated me to do better. I was mentored and given many useful tips to keep in mind to improve my content writing skills. Although the communication between us was via email and phone, I never felt as though I was very far away.

At the end of my period of working with Switch Idea, I received my stipend, a Certificate of Internship Completion, a Program Outcome (PO) Report, and an Experience letter promptly. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the team, and I am glad that I could be part of it.
